project : camo

description :
Camouflage is typically used to exploit ones "natural" surroundings to disguise something. The desire to be invisible, whether to hide or to watch, suggests power dynamics around looking. Set in Belgium’s National Botanical Gardens, The Franz Masereel Printmaking Center and the Belgian countryside, "Camo" is a series of video sketches that explore tactics of concealment. The audience is challenged to question their notion of "nature" in the context of a society saturated with name brands and consumerism.
